The Rockets in training

Benjamin had his second soccer practice today. It was his first official practice though because this was the first time he practiced with his new black and silver Addidas turf shoes, silver shin guards and new silver soccer ball. He was looking pretty professional if you ask me!
Here are some pictures from the practice. There's only 4 little boys on the team, so they each get quite a bit of individual coaching which is quite necessary actually. Benjamin didn't realize that he was supposed to try to get the ball from the other players. When someone was dribbling the ball down the field he would stand out of their way waiting for his turn. You should have seen the smile that came over his face when Coach Jeff said, "Benjamin, go get the ball from him and make a goal!" I knew what he was thinking at that very moment..."Yes! permission not to share and take what I want from all the other kids!" No, but really, it was adorable to see them high five each other when one got a goal. No sore losers on this team...yet.

We signed Cait up tonight for her ballet/tap classes starting in 2 weeks. She was so disappointed that she didn't get to dance today. I can't wait to dress her up in her little pink leotard and tights and practice putting her hair up in one of those buns that are so tight it makes her look Chinese. She'll be so sweet!! Don't worry, I'll post pictures.

It's good to be busy. It's good to feel like we're making baby steps in moving forward. Once again...thanks for those prayers. Keep 'em coming!

Coach asked him to run as fast as he could and he was taking it very seriously.

How precious!! Will there be any soccer or ballet/tap while I'm there? I'd love to see that!

It's a busy time of year with news things beginning...soccer, ballet, preschool, etc. etc.

That's a blessing.
Lifting you up,
Min

Soccer sounds perfect for Benjamin! How fun! Ballet for the little Princess - what fun! I bet Cait will eat that up! :) I hope Mommy does too!
You better take lots of pictures of BOTH!

Mary Alice had her first soccer practice yesterday too. She is the oldest on her team, so most of the kids are Benjamin's age. They are so funny and really don't get it! It will be good for Benjamin to get so much individual attention. Those games are so sweet to watch. Many of the kids have not a clue and spend the time socializing, crying, or (in Mary Alice's case last season) picking flowers! Love you and are lifting your name up continually!!

Oh, how cute! I wish I could have been there. Hopefully I can come to a practice or a game when I am there sometime. Thank you for taking pictures. You will have to post more as he really gets some ball time!!!

Oh, and one more thing. The shin guards go under the socks :)

I know they go under the socks, but he doesn't have his socks yet! The coach just ordered them. The only socks we had were too short. Looked silly, but still cute!

About the shin guards and the socks, I must comment! Nate just had a week long soccer camp and we had the biggest ordeal about those socks. He is the pickiest kid about socks. He has to have thin socks to wear with his shoes and then diff't thicker socks that he calls "house socks". Well, the soccer socks that go over the shinguard were "too thick" for him, so we had tears the night before, tears and complaining all the next morning and finally he just wore the short socks under his shinguards...afterall, we weren't trying to punish him by making him wear uncomfortable socks! We just wanted him to give them a chance. :o) So, beware of the soccer socks!! Hopefully Benjamin doesn't have Nate's same sock fettish.

LOL,
Mindy
